Stradbroke Ferries celebrates 50 years

Staff, friends and guests of Stradbroke Ferries celebrated the company's 50th year of operation at the historic Customs House in Brisbane.

Stradbroke Ferries has been providing vehicle and passenger services to North Stradbroke Island since 1st June 1964, when the Company's founding Directors identified the need for a regular vehicle transport service to the island, and in particular to service the mining industry.

The event took place at Customs House on the Brisbane river, where guests overlooked the Minjerribah vehicle ferry against the city skyline, very recently wrapped in Indigenous artwork designed by Straddie local Lincoln Costelloe.
