Torrens Transit drivers were bold and brash on Loud Shirt Day
Many Torrens Transit employees were decked out in their brightest and most colourful shirts in support of the annual Loud Shirt Day on Friday, October 20.
From zany Hawaiian prints to the most dazzling of cartoon shirts, Torrens Transit drivers donned their zany and vibrant outfits to raise awareness for the Australia-wide campaign to support the Can:Do 4Kids charity, which raises vital funds for deaf and hearing-impaired children.
Torrens Transit bus drivers collectively raised more than $980 for the charity on the day.
According to bus driver Chris, who has proudly put on a loud shirt for the past six years, he thoroughly enjoyed wearing his Hawaiian-themed shirt, brightening people’s day, and raising money for Can:Do 4Kids.
“My day was filled with meeting many people on my route, and I am confident that I made them smile with my loud shirt.”
Andrew Jenkinson, Managing Director of Torrens Transit, says that Loud Shirt Day has become a prevalent date for the team on the Torrens Transit community calendar.
For many of our bus drivers who are parents or have children in their lives, the passion to help out kids in need runs deep.”
“Loud Shirt Day continues to grow from year to year, and we are thrilled that the Torrens Transit staff continue their commitment to fundraising for Can:Do 4Kids in such a fun way.
“Every dollar raised for Can:Do 4Kids helps fund vital services for the children, which gives them the confidence and resources to live their lives to the fullest, Andrew said.
