Congratulations to Go West and Blue Tongue Training for launching a groundbreaking nationally recognised program to train bus drivers, setting a new standard for the industry!

Led by RTO General Manager Paul Whittle, Certified Training Assessor Mike Mitchell, and Driver Trainer Gary Keenan, this intensive Unit of Competency (TLIC3042 Operate Coach/Bus) training program equips heavy vehicle drivers with the skills required to excel as safe and professional bus drivers.

The innovative four-day UOC training format, paired with five days of site mentoring and continuous improvement, ensures that drivers are prepared for real-world challenges. Early next year, the program will offer Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) opportunities—an exciting step forward for experienced drivers.

As Go West General Manager Brad Bunce highlights, this initiative reinforces the company’s commitment to being an industry leader, providing in-house, nationally recognised training.
