Major shutdown a big success
Well done to all the drivers and personnel involved in the three week shutdown at BHP’s Area C South Flank operations in October.
And a big welcome to the new drivers who joined the current Go West driving team which transferred contractors and BHP employees between site camps and the airport.
Each morning Supervisor Cliff Spann addressed the drivers at Go West’s office at the Mulla Mulla Accommodation Village to talk about safety procedures and conditions such as driving into the sunlight and dust.
“This was our largest and most complex shutdown for the year because of the scale of people movements and the logistics of different pick up and drop off points,” said Project Manager Andrew Horan.
“The Area C South Flank operations have grown significantly in the past 12 months and Go West’s service has continued to expand with this growth.
“Congratulations to all of the drivers who embraced the challenge of this significant shutdown, for getting the passengers safely to their destinations and for supporting the new drivers and each other, which has ensured a harmonious and effective workplace.”
