Transit Systems secures 10-year contract renewal with Public Transport Authority of Western Australia
It will be business as usual for Bunbury and Busselton Regional Town Bus Services customers, with Transit Systems, operating locally as Swan Transit, securing another 10-year term for the region.
The renewal follows a highly competitive tender process by the Public Transport Authority of Western Australia (PTA), demonstrating the knowledge and operational value of the Transit Systems’ service delivery model.
Swan Transit’s local operations encompass two depots, a fleet of 72 buses, and a dedicated team of 102 employees, said Transit Systems CEO Michael McGee.
“We are committed to delivering reliable and efficient transport solutions for the communities of Bunbury and Busselton.
“This 10-year contract renewal solidifies our position as a leading operator and is a testament to our consistent delivery of high-quality, reliable services and improvements to fleet maintenance and presentation standards” he said.
Mr McGee said they are excited to continue the strong partnership with the PTA and look forward to contributing to the growth and success of the regional services over the next 10 years.
Brian Thompson, Swan Transit Managing Director added that the renewed contract was a win for the whole team.
“This contract renewal is a significant win for our locally based team, and it speaks to the hard work and dedication of our employees.
“Our 102 staff members are the backbone of our operations, and their commitment ensures that we continue to meet and exceed the expectations of both the PTA and the communities we serve.
“We look forward to continuing to partner with the PTA to improve services to local schools, reducing overcrowding and ensuring single journeys with no transfers.”
