Driving Confidence & Connections with the Clontarf Foundation
How Transit Systems is making an impact with the Clontarf Foundation
Loomi (People & Culture/Diversity & Inclusion Officer) and Marcela (Recruitment & Workforce Planning Supervisor) were excited to get involved in the Clontarf Foundation's Super Training Session – attracted over 250 attendees and was packed with energy, teamwork, and meaningful connections. Loomi and Marcela share their experience and why events like this matter.
A DAY OF FUN, TEAMWORK AND CONNECTION
The Super Training Session was buzzing with excitement. "The energy was incredible - everyone was engaged, working together, and just having fun," said Loomi.
Marcela agreed. "It was our first time attending, but we jumped right in - playing sports, chatting with the kids, and even participating in a friendly race. The Clontarf students were so welcoming and appreciative, which made the experience even more special."
Moments That Stood Out
For Loomi and Marcela, the day's highlight was seeing the kids' enthusiasm. "Watching the Clontarf students and partners come together in a spirited match was amazing. The teamwork and encouragement from everyone brought smiles all around," Loomi shared.
And it wasn't just about the games. "Some of the students were curious about Transit Systems and asked about career opportunities," Marcela said. "It was great to see them thinking about their futures."
Building Leadership & Confidence
Events like these are about more than just having a good time - they help young people grow. "These sessions give students a platform to build confidence, leadership, and teamwork skills in a supportive environment," Loomi explained. Marcela added, "It's all about belonging. The kids get to show what they're capable of while learning from each other and the mentors around them."
Why This Matters
For Transit Systems, supporting programs like the Clontarf Foundation isn't just a nice-to-have - it's a must. "Being involved in the community helps us build stronger connections, support youth development, and foster inclusivity," said Loomi. Marcela agreed, adding, "It's also a great way to introduce students to potential careers in transport. Who knows? Some of these young people might be our future drivers, mechanics, or leaders."
Looking ahead, both Loomi and Marcela see the partnership growing. "We'd love to get even more involved, whether through more events or even employment pathways for Clontarf students," Loomi shared.
Looking Forward
Both Loomi and Marcela walked away from the experience feeling inspired. "It reinforced how important it is to be involved in programs that make a difference," Marcela said. Loomi added, "Seeing firsthand how much these partnerships mean to the students was a great reminder of why we do this."
So, would they encourage others to take part in future events? Absolutely. "It's so rewarding," Loomi said. "Not only do we get to support young people, but we also learn and grow ourselves."
As Transit Systems continues to strengthen its partnership with the Clontarf Foundation, we can't wait to see what's next!
